The networking event in Munich drew about 40 participants, among them local companies interested in the U.S., and was followed by an FDI Consultant Forum (more information below). Besides company visits at various Italian and German companies that are planning on expanding business in the U.S. by opening production sites in the U.S., the group had the opportunity to get familiar with the Italian and German chamber system and its contacts for U.S.-oriented companies.
Participants were our Communities Members from Tupelo (MS), Hinds County (MS), Longview (TX), Bay County (FL) and Cornerstone Alliance / Benton Harbor (MI).
We were happy to receive very positive feedback from the participants. As Becca Hardin from Bay County, FL put it:
“I just want to personally thank you for all of your efforts. I thought the trip/meetings were excellent! I will definitely participate again in the future.“

FDI Consultant Forum Cologne
Cologne, December 16th 2016
On December 16 the EAIC FDI Consultant Forum in Cologne, Germany, brought together Member Communities and FDI experts, who are involved in the transatlantic lead generation and site selection process. The idea was to share experiences from projects in 2016, to discuss all issues regarding the recruitment and most important criteria to attract European companies. Typically European requirements for SPEC buildings, workforce and site visits were focussed in our discussion. Future plans of the EAIC include events in the U.S. and Europe (please find our events for 2017 here) and the introduction of an EAIC Certification for Member Communities. Since this certification will not be another site certification, but rather a marketing tool and a useful test for "European FDI Readiness", the EAIC sets up a Member Committee, to decide about structure, indicators and volume. Therefore every interested Member Community is asked to express interest in joining our Committee by contacting us.
